Lusitano Sport Horses (LSH), based in Guimarães, Portugal, is a family-run stud farm dedicated to the careful breeding of Purebred Lusitano horses for sale worldwide, with a special focus on sport disciplines. While our expertise is rooted in show jumping, we fully embrace the Lusitano’s versatility renowned for its noble character, elegance, and adaptability making it equally suited for dressage, working equitation, and leisure riding.
Through a meticulous selection of bloodlines, we aim to preserve the distinctive Lusitano type while prioritising taller horses that combine presence, athleticism, and functionality. Our breeding choices are guided by the desire to maintain the unique essence of this noble Portuguese breed, while enhancing traits that allow it to compete at the highest international levels.
Our Lusitano sport horses are carefully trained and prepared for sale, both in Portugal and to clients abroad. We also assist with international transport, ensuring each horse finds the right home where it will be valued and well cared for.

At Lusitano Sport Horses, we believe the Purebred Lusitano is the living embodiment of nobility, character, and versatility. Preserved over centuries for its functionality, this exceptional horse has served in battlefields, agricultural work, bullfighting, working equitation, and, more recently, has shone in international dressage arenas.
Recognizing its remarkable potential, but also the challenges posed by modern competitive demands, we are dedicated to the careful selection of taller Lusitanos, with improved suspension and greater movement amplitude—always preserving the distinctive type and essence that define this noble Portuguese breed.
Our goal is to breed and train Lusitano horses capable of competing at the highest level, both in show jumping and in other disciplines, honoring tradition while projecting it into the future. With meticulous attention to bloodline selection and a commitment to animal welfare, we strive for each horse to be a true ambassador of the breed, available for sale in Portugal and to clients worldwide.
